In 1932, at the age of thirteen, Baronova joined the Ballets Russes de Monte Carlo, a prestigious ballet company founded by the legendary impresario Sergei Diaghilev. Baronova quickly rose through the ranks of the company, becoming a principal dancer within a few years.
