My Great-Grandfather: A Pioneer in the Field of Genetics

My great-grandfather, John Smith (seen in the above photograph),was born in 1860 on a farm in rural Indiana. He was a curious and observant child, and he loved to spend his time exploring the fields and forests around his home. As he grew older, he became increasingly interested in the natural world, and he began to read everything he could find on the subject of biology.

In 1900, John Smith published his first scientific paper, a study of the inheritance of coat color in mice. This paper was groundbreaking at the time, and it helped to lay the foundation for the field of genetics. John Smith went on to become a respected scientist, and he was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 1920.

My Grandfather: A Leader in the Field of Molecular Biology

My grandfather, William Smith (seen in the above photograph),was born in 1900. He followed in his father's footsteps and became a biologist. William Smith was a brilliant scientist, and he made significant contributions to the field of molecular biology.
