Lucy was born in London in 1986. She joined the Royal Navy in 2004, and after completing her initial training, she was posted to the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. She served as a nurse on the Ark Royal for three years, during which time she deployed to the Gulf on two occasions.

In 2008, Lucy left the Ark Royal to attend the Royal Navy's Officer Cadet School at Britannia Royal Naval College. After graduating from OCS, she was commissioned as a Warfare Officer and posted to the destroyer HMS Daring. She served on the Daring for two years, during which time she deployed to the Mediterranean and the Arabian Sea.

In 2012, Lucy was selected for the Royal Navy's Diving Officer Course. After completing the course, she was posted to the submarine HMS Vigilant. She served on the Vigilant for three years, during which time she deployed to the North Atlantic and the Arctic.

In 2015, Lucy was promoted to Lieutenant and appointed as the Executive Officer of the submarine HMS Torbay. She served on the Torbay for two years, during which time she deployed to the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.

In 2017, Lucy was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (DSO) for her leadership and courage during a deployment to the Mediterranean. She was the first woman to be awarded the DSO since 1945.

In 2018, Lucy left the Royal Navy to pursue a career in writing and speaking. She has since published two books, "No Limits: The Inspiring Story of Lieutenant Lucy DSO RN" and "The Leadership Edge: Lessons from the World of Lieutenant Lucy DSO RN." She has also given numerous speeches on leadership and motivation to audiences around the world.

Lucy is a role model for women and girls around the world. She has shown that anything is possible if you set your mind to it. She is an inspiration to us all.
