The Early Years

The automotive industry in Kenosha began in 1897 when Charles Jeffery founded the Thomas B. Jeffery Company. The company initially produced bicycles, but it soon began to manufacture automobiles. In 1902, the company introduced its first car, the Rambler. The Rambler was a success, and it helped to establish Kenosha as a major center for automobile production.
