In 2020, the National Ten-Minute Play Contest received a record number of submissions. The judges were so impressed with the quality of the plays that they selected 30 plays for the final round. The Contest
The National Ten-Minute Play Contest is open to all playwrights, regardless of age, experience, or location. The only requirement is that the play must be ten minutes in length. The contest is judged by a panel of three playwrights. The judges read all of the submissions and select the plays that they believe are the most deserving of a place in the final round.
The final round of the contest is held at the Humana Festival of New American Plays. The 30 finalists are given the opportunity to see their plays performed by professional actors. The festival is a great opportunity for playwrights to get their work in front of a wider audience.
