Constand Viljoen

Under Viljoen's leadership, the AWB became increasingly involved in violence. In 1985, the AWB attacked a police station in the town of Ventersdorp, killing three people. The attack led to the banning of the AWB and Viljoen's arrest.

Viljoen was released from prison in 1990, after the release of Nelson Mandela and the unbanning of the African National Congress. He then became involved in the negotiations that led to the end of apartheid and the establishment of a new democratic South Africa.

Viljoen was elected to the South African Parliament in 1994. He served as a member of Parliament until 2001, when he retired from politics.

Abraham Viljoen
